Utah Judo Class: March 4th… bring the pain!

So I have a funny story to tell.  We showed up to Judo last night (the class is really filling up BTW), and Mike, our teacher starts by saying, “So I read on someone’s blog that they need to improve their cardio… You can all thank Steve for today.”  I cringed.  Of course Mike is too great a guy to actually cause the rest of the class to beat me to death in a dark alley, but he did step thinks up a bit and really get the blood pumping.  It was a great class!

Basically, this week we work on four key throws, and four key pinning/sumbission tecinques.  Plus, as we worked through the throw we cycled through the whole class, so you could really get a feel for people of all shapes and sizes, as opposed to the person you tend to get matched up with.  As a note:  I definitely learned that I prefer to fight people who only weight 100 pounds… they are much easier to throw.  I think I may go raise some hell in a pigmy community somewhere.

Wonderful class as usual.  great folks, learned lots of cool stuff, got a good workout.  Looking forward to competing.
