A bit more on Judo and Wrestling

Okay, so I felt so bad that I haven’t actually been making it to class much for a week, and as such haven’t been sharing many insights, so I hunted some down to share… This is a bit of a continuation of my post from this morning about Wrestling and Judo…

First, let’s learn a bit from our friends over at Superjudo.tv on haw to deal with that nasty double-leg takedown that the wrestlers just love to throw:

This is a great video about overcoming your natural reaction and dealing more intelligently wit the attack (I find that as I learn Judo, un-learning natural reactions is really most of what really helps you to handle a situation correctly.)

But, just to make us Judo folks feel good about ourselves (although I’m still a wrestler at heart too), let us not forget the real weakness of a wrestler: Giving up the neck.  Wrestlers, just some advice: Breathing=good, not breathing= bad.
