About Utah Judo

In the fall of 2007 I started taking Judo with my 13 year old son, Tyler.  I started initially to find a way to get some exercise, do something fun with my kid, and find an outlet for that male urge to be able to be a little bit rough sometimes.  Coming from a wrestling background (high school), and having done a bit of martial arts here and there, I have found that Judo takes my wrestling to a whole different level, and is really fun and energizing… so please join me as I track our progress, and share our experiences.

Also, feel free to contact me with any questions, comments, or insights.

This is us:

The class we currently take runs us $100 per month for up to 5 classes per week.  For more information you can call them at 801-347-3471 or check them out at Hidden Valley Judo website.

If you want to know more about me, you can find my linked in profile here, a general Steve Spencer page here, or you can find me on Twitter, or on my Utah Martial Arts blog (Covers Judo, Jiu Jitsu, MMA, Karate, and pretty much everything else.)  If you found your way here looking for more than just Judo, in addition to the martial arts site above, I would recommend this specific article on how to choose the right Utah Jiu Jitsu school.

Also, for more information on any of the throws I discuss here, you can find many of the over on Superjudo you can find them at:
